"Masters of Mac" Cook-Off: The 'Burbs Edition
Corporate Executive Chef Paul Katz and Executive Chef Brian Korey invite the neighborhood to say cheese at the Second Annual “Masters of Mac” Cook-Off on Tuesday, November 10, from 4-8 p.m. Katz and Korey go up against top chefs from the western suburbs to create original mac ‘n’ cheese recipes to be featured as part of a tasting flight. Each portion will be paired with the chef’s choice of craft beer, selected from the 90 available drafts at the restaurant. After savoring comfort food and paired sips, guests can vote for the official Master of Mac, with the winner announced at 8 p.m. the night of the event.
The mac ‘n’ cheese flight ($16) includes 4-ounce tasting portions from Bar Louie Chef Jesus Ramirez, Pinstripes Chef Cesar Gutierrez, and Redstone American Grill Chef Chris Daley as well as one created by Katz and Korey. Guests also have the option to order the accompanying beer flight ($16). Each mac ‘n’ cheese flight is served with a voting card providing an overview of each dish and ingredients.
The mac ‘n’ cheese flight includes the following selections:
Smoked Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Housemade smoked chorizo and poblano with a three-cheese-blend of cheddar, smoked gouda, and provolone

Mexican Roasted Mac & Cheese
Roasted poblano, jalapeño, and bacon on top of macaroni noodles
Beer Pairing: Pacifico Clara Lager
Loaded Mac & Cheese
Fusilli pasta tossed in a housemade cheese sauce and topped
with truffle oil, bacon and scallions
Beer Pairing: Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat
Tuscan Chicken Pasta
Grilled chicken, artichokes, cavatappi pasta, three-cheese-blend, basil, tomato, and mushroom
